Patrick McCarthy is senior vice president and head of marketing, creative and consumer insights for City National Bank. He leads a team of more than 50 colleagues in New York and Los Angeles who are responsible for developing and executing the company’s brand marketing, content development, digital marketing, direct response and social media campaigns. He is also responsible for monitoring and assessing trends in the market.
Mr. McCarthy is based in City National’s New York office and reports directly to Linda Duncombe, executive vice president and director of Marketing and Product Strategies.
Prior to joining City National in April 2019, Mr. McCarthy was the global head of marketing for Citi FinTech in New York, where he charted the development of its consumer product marketing strategy. He was responsible for branding, partnerships, digital marketing and client engagement, consumer and competitive messaging insights, social media, marketing technology and more. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. McCarthy worked as a lead analyst with the United States Treasury Department. Prior to that, he was an analyst with Merrill Lynch.
Mr. McCarthy received his undergraduate degree from Miami University and his MBA from Georgetown University. He is an advisor to Out In Tech and sits on the board of the Sackett Memorial Fund. He is also a supporter of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City.
