Jim Merk joined EyeBuyDirect in 2020 as Brand Director and oversees all aspects of the brand, including PR, social media, content and creative. Since joining the online retailer, Merk has revamped the brand book and launched the “Eyewear X” campaign highlighting the brand’s key pillars.
Prior to joining EyeBuyDirect, Merk held the role of Senior Brand Director for Newegg where he grew awareness by 300% and launched the Shopping Upgraded campaign. Merk also lived in Japan for 15 years and worked for some of the top companies in the world, including Toyota and Sony, and Burson-Marsteller, a global PR and communications firm. His work included developing award-winning websites and transforming brands.
Merk earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He currently resides in Costa Mesa, California, with his three daughters who he describes as “the coolest women” he knows.
