She
embeds a multicultural lens in every strategic initiative to ensure brand relevance, authenticity, diversity, and inclusion and she has launched some of the most significant content franchises for Latinx media.
Her background includes Chief Revenue Officer, Publisher, and National Advertising Director roles at HELLO & ¡HOLA! Media Inc. and PEOPLE en Español and category director roles at Conde Nast/ Glamour, and Latina Media Ventures/Latina.
Currently, as General Manager of Multicultural Brand Partnerships & Marketing for Group Nine Media, (#1 video publisher on mobile in the US and home to category-leading brands NowThis, The Dodo, POPSUGAR, Thrillist, and Seeker), Sylvia is developing a new breed of content that offers a multicultural voice, integrates diverse audiences, and offers brand partners a robust platform for engaging with consumers.
A native of Mexico, Sylvia is passionate about being a role model in the Latinx community and advocating for representation in media. She has been recognized by Forbes as a “Trailblazing Latina Executive in Media” and interviewed on the Univision show Despierta America about her personal journey growing up as an undocumented child in the US. Additionally, she received Congressional recognition from Congresswoman Linda T. Sanchez and a Commendation from the County of Los Angeles for her work as a mentor to underprivileged Latina youth through the non-profit organization ELLAS.
